Plum Reaper Vanilla Bean Ice Cream w/ Sautéed Plums

This one’s a little sweet, a little savory, and a whole lot of adventure. Think delicious sautéed plums, a crispy sprinkle of bacon, and that tasty, tangy Plum Reaper heat in every bite.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 red or black plums, sliced in half and pitted
  • Vanilla bean ice cream or gelato
  • Yellowbird Plum Reaper Hot Sauce
  • Crispy bacon bits, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the butter, letting it melt and bubble for about a minute, until the foam subsides and the butter is lightly browned.
  2. Whisk in brown sugar and a squeeze of Yellowbird Plum Reaper Hot Sauce until combined, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  3. Place the plums in the pan, cut side down, spaced evenly. Adjust the heat to maintain a low simmer and cook for 4-6 minutes until the plums begin to soften. Move them around as needed to prevent sticking. Remove the plums and set aside in individual dishes.
  4. Top each with a scoop or two of ice cream, a generous drizzle of Yellowbird Plum Reaper Hot Sauce, and bacon bits.
  5. Serve and enjoy right away!
