Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 2 slices thick-cut artisanal bread (or bread of choice)
- 2 Tbsp fig jam
- 2 Tbsp Yellowbird Plum Reaper Hot Sauce
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced apple
- 2 slices sharp white cheddar cheese
- 2 slices prosciutto
- 1/4 cup arugula (loosely packed)
- 1/8 cup sliced Vidalia onion
- 1 Tbsp butter, ghee, or mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper and bake prosciutto until crispy, about 10-12 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- While prosciutto is baking, caramelize apple and onion slices in a skillet over medium-high heat; set aside once softened and golden.
- Preheat a clean skillet to medium-high heat for grilling the sandwich.
- Spread 1 Tbsp fig jam on one side of each bread slice.
- Drizzle 2 Tbsp Yellowbird Plum Reaper Hot Sauce on top of the fig jam on one or both slices, depending on your preference.
- Layer the bottom slice with caramelized apple, sharp white cheddar, crispy prosciutto, arugula, and caramelized Vidalia onion.
- Spread butter, ghee, or mayo on the outside of each bread slice.
- Lightly oil the skillet, place the sandwich in the pan, and close the lid. Toast 3-5 minutes per side, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
- Add an extra drizzle of Plum Reaper for extra spicy-sweet goodness.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
